For Christmas this year we bought the Beamer for ourselves and our son and daughter-in-law, who live across the country in Kentucky. We also bought the Beamer for our daughter and our son-in-law, who live about 9 hours from us in San Clemente. We rarely get to see them due to the length of travel, and we are all working and the time to get off never coincides with them. Beamer has been an amazing way for our patients to stay connected with their families during extended stays in the hospital. We have been using Beamer videophones in the high-risk unit of our maternity ward for a few months with our mothers-to-be who are bed-ridden and away from their families for weeks or months at a time. This has been an incredible program, and our first patient to try Beamer was able to see the cookies her 3 year old had made at grandma's house - an hour and a half away from the hospital! We also have other women using Beamer who have other children at home. Now they can read bedtime stories, tuck them in to bed at night, and the children at home are able to call and check on mom just to SEE that they are ok.

Beamer also takes some of the burden off of the fathers who are caring for the other children, and lets families see each other anytime. It's great to see the emotional support Beamer provides for these families.

BEAMER MADE OUR WEDDING A SUCCESS.

My wife's sister is pregnant and confined to bed rest. She was unable to come to our wedding (She lives in San Francisco and we live in Louisiana). My wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law were VERY distressed because she would not be at the wedding.

I tried to figure out a way to have the wedding put on the internet but the obstacles were too great. I then saw an advertisement for the Beamer BM 80. I immediately went to Sharper Image and bought a pair.

They worked GREAT! I placed one unit so my sister-in-law could see the wedding and then moved it to the reception area later. Not only could she see the wedding, but my wife could see her! I cannot tell you how comforting and happy that made us all.

At the reception there was a continuous line of guest talking to my sister-in-law. It made all of us feel like she was there.
